Tips for engagement shoots

1. Choose a Location That Feels Like You
Pick a location that reflects your relationship whether that’s a cozy café, a scenic park, the city streets, or somewhere meaningful to your story. When you feel connected to the space, your photos will feel more natural and personal.
2. Coordinate, Don’t Match Your Outfits
Instead of wearing identical outfits, choose colours and styles that complement each other. Soft neutrals, earthy tones, or muted colours photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your connection rather than your clothing.
3. Plan for the Best Light
Lighting can completely change the mood of your photos. The best time for engagement sessions is usually early morning or golden hour (just before sunset) when the light is soft, warm, and flattering.
4. Relax and Trust the Process
You don’t need to know how to pose that’s what your photographer is there for. Focus on each other, laugh, talk, and enjoy the moment. The most natural photos come when you’re simply being yourselves.
5. Bring a Little Meaning With You
Consider bringing something personal a bottle of wine, your dog, a blanket, or even your favourite coffee order. Small details like this help tell your story and make your session feel more authentic.
